A Kenyan man has passed away in Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA.
Mr. George Wahagi Kimani died early Tuesday morning at the Gwinnett Medical Center where he had been rushed to after complaining of pain.
A source close to the family told ksnmedia.com that Mr Kimani’s death had come as a shock to both the family and the Kenyan community in Atlanta Metropolitan. “We are devastated by the news of his passing,” he said in a phone interview. “On Monday, he had gone to work as usual without complaining of anything unusual regarding his health only to come home saying he was experiencing excruciating back pain,” he added.
A spokesperson at Gwinnett Medical Center said the patient passed away shortly after midnight.
“The medical personnel here tried in save his life,” she said.
On Tuesday afternoon, family members gathered at Mr Kimani’s home in Gwinnett for prayer. “We are trying to come to terms with the news of the untimely death,” said Mr Kimani Kagombe, an uncle to the deceased.
George was a son to Mr. Evanson Kimani Mwaniki and Mrs. Nancy Njeri Kimani of Umoja Innercore, Kenya. He was a brother to Charles Kamau Kimani and Jeff Irungu Kimani of Gwinnett County.
Mr Irungu said preliminary arrangements have been made to have prayer meetings everyday from 7pm at 3300 Maple Terrace Dr. Suwanee, GA 30024.
