It is with great sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our mom, wife, cucu, sister, auntie, cousin, and sister in the Lord, Keziah Njeri Nduati, after battling with cancer for the last several months.
And it is with great joy that we celebrate her winning a crown after finishing her race and transitioning home to be with the Lord where she desired and longed for during her Christian life on this earth.
Keziah was the loving daughter of the late Paul Wainaina and Hannah Wanjiru Wainaina of Kanyariri Village, Kiambu District, Kenya. She was the wife of John Nduati, beloved mother of Pamela Wanjiru White of Seattle, WA, George Wainaina of the UK, Lee Nduati Njuguna of Nairobi, Kenya, Ben and Katie Nduati of Cleveland, Ohio and Mark and Nyaboke Mbugua Nduati of Syracuse, NY. She was Cucu to her grandchildren, Biko Mbugua, Miadi Mbugua, Imani Mbugua, David Wainaina, Titus White, Isaiah Nduati and Noah Nduati.
She will be missed by her sisters Rebeka Njau, Nairobi, Karen Kamau, Nairobi and Jemimah Wainaina, Ohio; her brothers Kihara Wainaina, Nairobi, Edwin Wainaina, Nakuru and James Wainaina, Nairobi; and by her nephews and nieces, cousins and a host of brothers and sisters in the Lord all over the world.
So what can we say? I will say what she told me. “It is absolutely necessary for each person to know how they are truly related with the Lord. I’m not worried about death, and I’m not in denial. I know where I’m headed”. “O mundu amenye wega uria metainwo na Ngai kia ma”.

The six-year-old Shirley Wambui Mundia proudly marched wearing her maroon graduation gown on May 30th at the Veritas Academy in South Bend, IN. This was her first graduation anticipating many more and a bright future. She bragged about her awards to members of the family thereafter. Her mother had big dreams for her. We are still in disbelief that Shirley won’t have the chance to live any of these dreams.
Little Shirley, brutally murdered by her own father on the morning of Sunday, June 2nd now rests in heaven with God. She will be deeply missed by her mother, family and friends. Shirley will be remembered for her adorable smile, little tight hugs and a big heart. Baby Shirley made everyone around her smile. She was a regular, joyful six year old with a golden heart.
Family and friends will be meeting at Christian Church International on 1530 S Main St in South Bend, Indiana, daily at 5PM until Friday June 14th.
Viewing will be on Saturday June 15th from 1PM to 3PM at Alford’s Mortuary 1222 Napier St, South Bend, IN 46601. This will be followed by the memorial service to be held at Pentecostal Cathedral C.O.G.I.C. on 1025 W Western Ave South Bend, IN 46601.
To lay Shirley to rest with love and dignity, the family is asking for support and donations. Donations are securely accepted through our website http://shirleymundia.com. Words of support can be posted on our Facebook page – http://www.facebook.com/ForShirleyMundia .
The family extends heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers and support consistently flowing in from all corners. This is the response of love and the power that overcomes. Thank you.
