It’s with deep grief that DFW is mourning the death of our own  Sister Doris “Chero” Cherotich Chemirmir Akpom of DFW, TX.
She leaves behind her loving husband  Mr.Okey Akpom & their 3 children: Alex, Brandon & Chuka. Her Parents are The Late Samson Chemirmir & Judy Chemirmir.
She was sister to Jep Muraya, Susan, David, Patrick, The Late Stella, Oscar & Ernest. Sister in law to Syed, Faith & Trudy. Niece to Grace & Mercy amongst others.
Unfortunately,  her battle with CANCER was lost as the Lord had seen it fit to allow her to bow out & rest.
Following her death, we humbly post the following time line of events as we seek your moral, financial and spiritual support:

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Venasius Nyamau Mutisya father to Irene Wambui of Coppell, Texas and Harriet Nyamau.
Mr Mutisya passed away early Sunday morning November 19 2017 after a short illness.

It was with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we inform you of the unexpected passing of Jamal Lorenzo Nganga of Silver Spring, MD.

Jamal was only 20 years old and a student at the University of Tampa (FL).

He was a studious Sophomore aiming for a Bachelors in Business Administration when he left us. He was also a stand-out, senior basketball player at his former high school – Blake High School.

Jamal sadly leaves behind his Mum, Ebla Ibrahim of Silver Spring, MD, younger brother Nabil Nganga of Silver Spring MD & His father Zahir Nganga of Dallas, TX.

It is with profound sadness that we annnounce the passing of our dear Jane ‘Kakuve’ Munyao of Queens, NY on 12/27/2017 at NY Presbyterian Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Jane leaves behind her husband Charles Munyao, children Cindy (17) and Ryan (11), her parents Daniel and Pauline Nthuko (Kenya), brothers John and Fidel Nthuko of Wichita, Kansas among other siblings and family members in Kenya.

Funeral arrangements are underway. Jane’s family kindly requests your prayers, contributions, and support as they prepare to lay her to rest in Kenya. Tentative dates are as follows: Memorial service is on January 6th, place and time TBD; Jane and family to travel to Kenya by the 7th; and, service and burial in Kenya on the 12th. Kenyan woman dies after hit-and-run crash in Phoenix, Arizona

A Kenyan woman,Sheila Jeptanui Chuchuney of Phoenix has died after she was struck in a hit-and-run crash. Sheila was rushed to the hospital but died few minutes later.

She is the daughter of Everlyn Lelei of Phoenix, Arizona.

Family and friends are meeting every evening from 5pm at Evelyn Lelei’s home located at 5232 W Warner St,Phoenix 85043.

We regret to announce the death of Mr Peter Njoroge Mwangi of Raleigh North Carolina that occurred on the morning of January 9th, 2018 through a tragic road accident.

He was Husband to Rahab Kimani, father to Paulette Njeri and Mara Wanjiru. The son to mwangi Njoroge and Janet Wanjiru.

He is Survived by 8 siblings.

Appeal to offset hospital bill for the Late Willys Kamanu Kihato

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Willys Kamanu Kihato of Gatia-ini village, Kangari, Murang’a County.
Kamanu was 24 years old. He attended Gaichanjiru High School and later on went to Mt. Kenya University where he graduated with a degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management.

He was working for One Way Cleaning  Services Ltd as an Assistant Procurement Officer prior to his untimely death.

On October 10th 2017 Kamanu started complaining of a headache and he was rushed to Kenol hospital.

Unfortunately, he fell into a coma while undergoing treatment. He was immediately transferred to Meridian Equator Hospital on October 21st 2017 where he was diagnosed with Acute TB Meningitis.
Willys spent the last three months of his life in the hospital undergoing treatment.
On January 1st 2018, Willys Kamanu passed away in his hospital bed leaving behind a hospital bill of over Ksh 4 million.
The burial arrangements had to be delayed because his body could not be released by the hospital until the family committed to paying the bill.

Kamanu’s father, a farmer and primary school teacher, gave out his land title deed to serve as collateral. The funeral  took place on Saturday, January 13th 2018.

The family exhausted all its resources to make sure Willys had the best medical treatment.

The family is planning a fundraiser on February 3rd 2018 at Elite Primary School  to raise money to pay off the remaining  hospital.

The family is calling upon well-wishers to kindly assist with offsetting the hospital bill.

She was the daughter of the late Hylam Machua Mbiriri and the late Milka Ngendo Machua.

She was brother to the late George Mbiriri, the late Bedan Muthondu, the late Gladys Wanjiru, the late Peter Kang’ethe, Beth Kabura, the late Hannah Wanjiku, the late Stanley Gakami, the late Edward Machua, George Mbiriri, the late David Kibaria, the late Moses Kang’ethe and Margaret Wagoci.

She was the mother of Nicholas Koinange Karuga (Dallas,Texas), Hon. Paul Koinange (MP Kiambaa), Fred Mbiyu (Florida), Machua Karuga Koinange, Annastasia Wanjiru Karuga, and Ng’endo Machua Muniu.

She was mother in law to Alice Waithaka-Koinange and David Muniu King’atua. She was married to Noah Karuga Koinange.

She was grandmother to Ngina Machua, Wambui Machua, Karuga Koinange, Charmayne Ngina, Wairimu Koinange, Wanjiru Koinange, Karuga Koinange, Kaya Wanjiku and Jaba King’atua.

Meetings are taking place at her residence in Ngong town behind Equity Bank from 3pm everyday. Friends are also meeting in Nicholas and Alice Koinange’s Home at 10300 Morning Glory Ln, Frisco, Texas 75035 Saturday 1/27 and Sunday 1/28/18 from 4pm.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on Friday, February 2nd 2018 for a service at St. Francis church, Karen at 10am.

She will be laid to rest at Kirigu, Dagoretti thereafter. RIP Maitu.

We are saddened to announce the unexpected, shocking and sudden death of Christine ‘Shiru’ Gichaga who passed away on January 29th, 2018 after a brief bout of flu.

Christine was a member of Neema Gospel Church in Dallas, TX. She was a loving wife to James Gichaga and mother to Keysha Gichaga.

She was the daughter to Col. Francis Ndegwa and Mary Ndegwa and a sister to Stephen Ndegwa and Gladys Wamuyu, and sister in law to Ann Warimwe.

She leaves behind a rich legacy of her passion for kids and investment of time and resources to those who knew her. She was a generous person full of energy in everything she did.

Our consolation at this moment is knowing that Christine loved and gave all for others particularly the little children.

We are reaching out to all her friends, DFW community area, Kenyans in Diaspora and well-wishers to stand with James & Keysha Gichaga as they plan to travel to Nakuru- Kenya to give their last respect and send off next week.

There will be a fund raiser and memorial service at the church that she worshipped (see details below).

She was a sister to Grace Wanjiru (Nyeri), Judith wambui Gathecha (Nairobi), Esther Ng’ang’a (Kabatini) , Isabel Wangechi Mwangi (Nairobi), the late Martin Maina( Nyeri), Julia Njeri Gatugi (Nairobi), Mary Wanjiku (Nairobi), Cornellious Ndegwa (Ng’arua), and George Mwangi (Nairobi).

She was grandmother to Alma Njoki.

The Karuri family announces with great sadness the loss of their beloved wife and Mother Lucy Karuri (Mama Wambui) of Peabody MA.

She left to be with the lord on Feb 27th 2018 at 11:30 am.

She was the daughter to the late Samuel Mwaura and the late Margaret Wambui. Daughter in law to Joseph Gichimu and Martha Gathoni. Wife to Mr. Francis Karuri.

Mother to Lisbeth Kagunda, Martha Karuri, Janet Karuri and Ashley Karuri. Sister to Joseph Mwaura (Jose), Kezia Mwaura, Jane Mwaura (Wadida), Henry Mwaura, Hannah Waweru, John Mwaura, Willie Mwaura and Esther Mwaura. Mother in law to Jared Kagunda.

Grandmother to Jayden and Jason Kagunda. Auntie and friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily starting Feb 28th 2018 – Sat March 10th 2018 from 7pm to 9pm at Karuri’s residence: 103 Bartholomew St, Peabody, MA, 01960.

Memorial Service/Thanksgiving/Funeral Fundraiser will take place at:

We wish to announce the passing on to glory of George Mungai, father to Jackline and James Ng’ethe of Keller, Texas which occured on 2/27/18 in Kenya, after a long illness bravely borne. Burial will be held on Thursday 8th, March 2018.
