Following  the death of CHARITY MUGURE at Medical City of Dallas, in liaison with her family back in Kenya, The KDAC has taken lead to invite our community near & far to help us give Charity a decent farewell.

We request your presence & participation at Charity Mugure’s Funeral Fundraiser & memorial service THIS SUNDAY, to enable us to transport her body home and cater for funeral related expenses.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Catherine Wambui Kinyanjui at on 07/15/2016 at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.

She was daughter to Daniel Kinyanjui of Baltimore, Maryland and Teresa Wanjiku Kinyanjui of Thika. Mother to Donnel Kungu and Ryan Kinyanjui.

She was sister to Caroline Wanjiru Kinyanjui of Dubai, Maryanne Muthoni Kimani of Canada, Irene Njeri Kinyanjui of Nairobi, Elizabeth Kinyanjui of Thika, Christine Nyambura Kinyanjui Qatar, Yvonne Wanjiru Kinyanjui.

Catherine had been battling lung cancer and was scheduled to go to India for further treatment next month.

Friends and family will be meeting at 23 Parkhill Place,  Nottingham MD 21236 on Sunday 7/17/16 at 3 pm, Wednesday 7/20/16 and Friday 7/22/16 at 6 pm for prayers and burial preparation.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 4p at 9600 Pulaski Park drive suite 115 Middle River MD. 21220.

The late Charity Mugure’s body heads home to Kenya for her last journey

The body of the late Charity Mugure who passed away at the Medical City of Dallas left the DFW Airport on Tuesday enroute to Kenya for her final resting place.

The developments were made possible after successful funds drives by Kenyans and other wellwishers in Dallas, Houston, Massachusetts, Ohio and others.

In the Dallas area, the efforts were spearheaded by the Chairman of the Kenya Diaspora Advisory Council (KDAC), Alex Karundu and the KDAC team while in Houston, the efforts were lead by Jackie Muthee among others.

On Sunday July 17, there was a memorial/fundraiser at the Global Oasis Mission Church where several of Charity’s co-workers attended.

Charity’s body was scheduled to be received in Kenya on Thursday July 21, 2016 and will head to Lee Funeral Home.

There will be viewing at the funeral home at 8am on Tuesday July 26th with a memorial service following at 9am at the ACK Emmanuel Church in Riruta.

She will be laid to rest in Njabini.

Carol leaves behind 2 young Children, 13 year old Gavin Gachuiri and a 3 year old Ivy Wanjiru.

Kenyan living in Washington dies in car accident in Kenya while there for a funeral

A Kenyan man who lives in Federal Way, Washington has died through a tragic road accident while in Kenya.

Njubi Karau of Federal way, Washington state passed away in the accident as he had travelled home to attend a burial of a family member.

The late Karau together with his wife were both in Kenya to lay to rest a family member before his demise found him on a fatal road accident. Karau was a happy man, “a people’s person,” and a great philanthropist… He loves life and his desire to serve God was unquestionable.

Family, friends, and community at large are encouraged to meet at 4326 East C Street, Tacoma WA 98404 starting from 7pm every day.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Melanie Otieno on September 10, 2016 in Ocala, FL. Melanie was born on February 7th, 1997 in Nairobi, Kenya.

She is a former student of Forest High School and an employee of Walgreens in Ocala, FL.

She leaves behind parents Norah & Geoffrey Osoro, a sister Nancy Otieno, brother Nigel Otieno; aunties: Joan, Jennipher, Everlyne, Phylis, Grace, Doreen among others; uncles: Boaz, Hezron, Onyango, Arika among others and many cousins and friends.

He was studying engineering at Morgan State University and was such a geniuine person who truly cared about his family, friends and his community. We are saddened to announce the untimely death of Martha Ombati through a tragic road accident on September 13th 2016 in Princeton, Texas.

Martha was the wife to Atanas Ombati of Princeton, Texas.

Martha had just picked up her 8 year old son from school when the fatal accident occurred.Her son Zion who miraculously survived the wreck. He is currently admitted in critical condition at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.

Contrary to initial social media reports, Zion is alive and still receiving medical attention at the hospital.

The family is in shock and disbelief and they will need all the support they can get as they go through traumatizing time.

She was the wife to Cephas Kute and the mother to Hezron, the late Robert, Allan, Isaac (UK), Kevin (New Jersey) and Caesar Kute.

Elsa was the Mother-in-law to Maureen Murenga, Antonia Wanjiru, Brenda Omuse, Carolyn Ligare, Roxane Fletcher and Sophie Muniu. She was grandmother to Richard, Golda, Miata, Edgar, Earl, Owen, Emmanuel, Jeff, Lisa, Luke, Kevin Jr & Robert. She was a sister to Belseba Oduka, the late Christopher Middii, the late Johashon Owour, the late Martin Ang’iro, Timon Ang’iro and Teresa Okumu.

We are very sorrowful & grieved by the untimely death of *Martha Ombati* through a tragic road accident last tuesday (13th)  in Princeton, Texas.

Alan was son to Moses and Vivian Ogutu, father to Malaika, brother to Brenda Ogutu Ndunda, Irene Ogutu, and the late Tim Ogutu. He was brother-in-law to Charles Ndunda and uncle to Clarissa Ndunda. He was a beloved nephew and cousin to many.

Kenyan man James Kutto (Jemmo Cootaw) killed in Fridley Minneapolis after being struck by a vehicle

A Kenyan man was killed on Friday night in Fridley, Minnesota.

James Kutto was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing a road at about 9.40pm.

He had just alighted from a bus on his way home from work and  started walking a cross the street when the vehicle struck him.

Kuto, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family and friends are trying to send Jemmo home for burial and your assistance will be highly appreciated.
