A Kenyan family in Dallas, TX is enduring more than the passing away of their father who passed away in Nairobi.

Mr Joseph Njerenga passed away at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi on June 28th, 2015 after losing his long battle with Cancer.

According to his son, Bob Njerenga who is a resident of Dallas, the hospital has detained the body of their father over outstanding hospital bills amounting to Sh5.1 million ($51,000). The hospital would not let the family see Mr Njerenga’s body at the morgue.

The Aga Khan hospital has declined various modes of settling the bill including depositing a land title insisting they will only honor monetary payments.

The situation has complicated plans for funeral arrangements both at home and in the US as the bills remain pending.

To help in offsetting the outstanding bill, the organizing committee would like to invite the community to a prayer and fundraising event on Sunday August 2, 2015 at a clubhouse located on 1315 Riverchase Drive, Coppell-TX 75019 from 2pm.

Any assistance provided will be greatly appreciated.
